For The Potterheads

Some key scenes in Harry potter were filmed in Landmarks around London. So I'm going to give you all a Londoners guide to Harry Potter. Of course there are so many places to visit but these are my favourite. Some are Film locations and others are Harry themed stores.

So, First up and a must see for any fan is the Making of Harry Potter studio tour in Watford. Its such a fun experience seeing props and actual sets used in the filming of Potter. Try some Butterbeer whilst sitting on Hagrid's Bike, or, learn some Wandography!

As for filming locations,  Leadenhall Market this one is my favourite. Not only has it been used in Harry Potter, but in so many other films as well. This set was used as the entry to the Leaky Couldron in the Philosopher's Stone and  it is absolutely stunning. Whilst you're here, enjoy the food and the shopping in the area and make your way to the Gherkin Building.

Nearest Station Bank/ Monument

Something that goes hand in hand with the studio tour is the visit to Platform  9 3/4 in Kings Cross, although the queue is quite long to get a picture taken with the famous trolley in the wall, its SO worth it. Have a look in the shop aswell, where you can buy chocolate frogs, wands and even Hogwarts cloaks.

Nearest Station: Kings Cross

Another iconic building used in the film is Australia house which was the setting for Gringotts bank.
Its quite grand when you enter, but don't linger too long as it is the Australian High Commission!

Borough Market was used as the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron in the Prisoner of Azkaban. I've talked about Borough on the  Market pages! its definitely worth a visit!

The Minalima store is owned by the graphic designers who created all the books, and posters you see used in the films. They even have a little free to visit museum/ exhibit in the store so you can see up close the posters used. Treat yourself and purchase one of the prints they sell as well!

I think the actual store needs to be appreciated, it looks so magical!
