London Street Art

Artists to look out for.

London is famed for its street art, so, here I'll talk about my favourite artists and places to see their work and so many others!
In recent years, street art has gone from vandalism to something art lovers go to seek out. I know I do
The best places to seek out much of this Art is East London (Brick lane and Shoreditch) but there is always art dotted around Camden and Portobello road. and even in Oxford circus.

So, there are a few artists whose work I see EVERYWHERE I go in London, and they are definitely making a name for themselves.

Nathan Bowen aims to transform run down spaces around the city into works of art. He has quite a few pieces around Brick lane, but can be

found pretty much all over London. I found a few of his pieces on Oxford street, so its worth keeping an eye out where ever you are in the city.

Anna Laurini is actually an accomplished artist from Milan and her mission is to bring beauty back to the streets. Her work is pretty distinctive and once you see one piece, it's hard not to recognise more of her work.

Her work features very abstract, but beautiful faces.

Andy Leek, the artist behind  Notes to Strangers says 'To make my commute more interesting, I started putting positive notes in copies of the metro and leaving them for people to discover. #notestostrangers was born. '

I've not found any notes in my Metro but I have seen the notes posted about on my travels around the city. Andy Leek posts the locations (Kind of) of his art to his Instagram page when he puts them up.

From the artist himself :

'His simple stick figures wordlessly tell the story of his community and he frequently collaborates with hospitals, charities and homeless organisations.'

Banksy

An artist that needs no introduction, one of the most famous street artists, who has created art all over the world, So much of his work can be found around  London if you know where to look.

The only piece I've found created Banksy is his pink car in Brick lane, which at one point had a Ghost Rider in it, this has been removed and replaced with a wooden board
